CAN WE MEET OUR DJ / WHEN WILL OUR DJ BE SCHEDULED?
YES - you can meet with our DJs before OR after you sign a contract.  With either option, we will ask you to fill in and submit our comprehensive event planning form prior to making that decision, so we can first match up the best DJ for you. We customize your event based on various criteria on our comprehensive planning form.  Since we know the strengths and weaknesses of all our DJs better than anyone, you do not have to worry about asking the important questions.  We will be happy to write your DJ's name on your contract for your peace of mind.

WHAT PERSONALITY SHOULD I CHOOSE?
We have 5 personalities you can choose:  Low key, Low-Moderate, Moderate/Master of ceremonies, Moderate-High and high profile.  Personality is strictly "verbal interaction on the microphone", and has little to do with music.  The chart below may help you decide what is best for you.

WILL YOU PLAY THE MUSIC I REQUEST?
WE CAN PLAY WHAT YOU WANT AND STAY AWAY FROM WHAT YOU DON'T WANT.  You can be as general or as specific as you wish.  One option is to create a list of "must plays", "play if possible" and "do not plays" directly from our web site.  Another option is to give us percentages of each genre on our event planning guide and let the DJ read the crowd and use his experience.  Naturally, you can do a little of both too.  Our online music library consists of the most requested songs and you are NOT limited to that list.  If you cannot find a song in our database, simply use the "Custom song" and add your entry.  We will notify you if we do not have that song and will be happy to play any CDs you decide to provide.

HOW MANY SONGS I CAN PRE-SELECT?
Many customers give us more songs than we have time to play.  Therefore, we limit your pre-selected requests to 30 songs during the dance time (roughly 2 hours of music).  If you pick the maximum number of songs, your DJ will not be able to take requests or use his experience to read the crowd since this usually takes up all of the dance time.  When creating a request list, please remember the number of songs you request greatly affects which DJ will be scheduled for your event (some DJs like request lists, while others do not).  If customer provides a request list or one style of music consisting of more than 75% of dance portion of event, we take no responsibility for crowd response.

DO YOU USE CDs or MP3?
Both!  There are pros and cons to using one or the other.  MP3 is great to use if you do not want to carry around all the CDs and easier to manage.  However, the quality of CDs is absolutely the best.  MP3 can only be as good as it is ripped (copied) from the original CD.  Of course, to use MP3, you need to use an MP3 player such as a laptop or ipod which are not as reliable as one may think.  So, even if your DJ uses primarily or all MP3, the CDs are still brought and used if nothing else for backup.  The greatest thing about MP3 is the speed to find a song.  However, it shouldn't really matter to you if it takes the DJ 5 seconds or 30 seconds to find a song.  Given the choice, some of our DJs still prefer CDs.

HOW MUCH EXPERIENCE WILL MY DJ HAVE?
We have been in business since 1978.  We only hire DJs who have worked at least 100 events (roughly 3 years).  This way, you do not have to wonder if the DJ has "been there - done it before".  We perform about 500 events per year.  Remember, a DJ with 10 years experience does NOT mean they have been doing weddings for 10 years!  They could have done nothing but nightclubs or pool parties for those 10 years.

CAN WE VIEW OUR DJ AT ANOTHER EVENT?
We DO NOT allow prospective clients to sit in on private events! This is not professional and it is disrespectful to those customers.  Most importantly, it will not reflect what happens on your day.  Customers are free to schedule in-person consultations with an office manager to discuss their event before signing any contract.  You will have a phone consultation or a face to face meeting prior to your event with your DJ.

WHAT ARE YOUR PAYMENT AND BOOKING TERMS?
In order to book our services, simply call and ask us to send you a contract.  A signed copy must be returned with a $150 deposit within 7 days.  You may also fax your signed contract and pay with Mastercard, Visa or Discover by clicking "Pay Online" on our website.  Your balance is due 7 days before your event.  We do not charge extra for paying by credit card, because our bank does not charge us very much for the service, and it is convenient for you.

WHAT KIND OF EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
All our DJs use professional grade equipment such as Numark mixers, Stanton & Denon dual CD players, Yamaha speakers, JBL and Mackie self powered speakers, Crown & QSC amps, and UHF wireless microphones.  Most of our DJs also use computer laptops and run some or all of the music via mp3.  All other DJs use CDs.  Therefore all music that is played is digital.

DO YOU HAVE INSURANCE?
Yes!  We have liability insurance for up to $2,000,000.

CAN YOU PROVIDE MUSIC IN A DIFFERENT ROOM THAN WHERE YOU ARE SET UP?
Yes, but there are many factors that may prohibit us from doing so.  We can put one speaker in one area and simply retract that speaker as long as the area is within 100 feet from the DJ table.  For an additional charge, you can also upgrade your package for a separate second system.  Another option is to get a self powered speaker in one room, main setup in another.  Wireless speakers are available, but they are NOT as reliable for sound quality.

WHAT IS YOUR BACKUP POLICY?
We provide backup equipment AND paid backup DJs for every event.  Furthermore, we have a clause in our contract to cover that just to give you peace of mind.
